PA Workwear Program
The PA Workwear Program in partnership with the Department of Public Welfare and the Luzerne County Workforce Investment Development Agency, offers work appropriate clothing to help individuals transitioning back into the workforce.
Program Goals
- To provide fashionable and appropriate interview clothing for women and men seeking employment
- To provide fashionable and appropriate employment for clothing women and men starting new jobs or training programs
- To boost participants’ self-esteem and self-image and provide support in their job search or new job
How Does the Program Work?
Participants are referred to the program by the Department of Public Welfare or other community partners. Individuals must call to schedule an appointment after we have received their referral. Each client will receive individual assistance in picking out necessary clothing for their interview or job.
How you can support the program.
Please consider making a DONATION of business or work-related clothing to the Volunteers of America Family Thrift Store in Wilkes-Barre. We gladly accept women's and men's clothing that is clean, work appropriate and currently fashionable.
Our greatest needs for the PA Workwear program are:
- Medical scrubs (all colors/prints)
- Black pants
- White oxford shirts
- Plus size professional and business casual clothing
- Winter coats, hats, gloves, and scarves
- Suits
- Skirts
- Pants
- Blouses
- Jewelry and accessories etc.
