January is National Poverty in America Awareness Month. Volunteers of America of Pennsylvania (VOAPA) recognizes that poverty is a major issue effecting every facet of life in America. In Pennsylvania, over 12% of the population lives below the poverty line. VOAPA works each day to address and alleviate the causes and effects that poverty has in our communities. We would like to give a shout out Turtle Fur's Project Warmth who donated much needed winter accessories to those facing homelessness. As the temperatures continue to drop, we cannot thank Project Warmth enough for this often life saving assistance of warm winter gear in the bitter cold.
